Actually the franchise has made a change in its fielding coach. Former Ireland all-rounder John Mooney has been given this responsibility for the upcoming season. The team shared a post through social media and announced the appointment of John Mooney as the fielding coach.

9 years international career

Let us tell you that John Mooney played international cricket for Ireland for 9 years between 2006 and 2015. He played 64 Test and 27 T20 International matches in his career. Batting in 55 innings of ODI, he scored 963 runs at an average of 23.48 and took 48 wickets while bowling. Apart from this, he scored 231 runs while batting in T20 International and took 10 wickets while bowling.

Delhi Capitals last season

The last season was very bad for Delhi. The team could not qualify for the top-4. Under the captaincy of Akshar Patel, Delhi had won 7 out of 14 league matches. The team had to face defeat in 6 matches. The remaining 1 match was inconclusive.

There was a big change last season

There was a big change in Delhi Capitals before the last season i.e. 2025 IPL. The team had released regular captain Rishabh Pant. Akshar Patel was given command in place of Pant. Pant started his IPL career with Delhi Capitals in 2016. After parting ways with Delhi, Pant joined Lucknow Super Giants. Last season, he was seen taking charge of Lucknow. However, Lucknow also could not qualify for the playoffs.
