Now Aadhar card will not be considered a necessary document for making birth certificate in Maharashtra. That means, a person’s birth certificate will not be issued by showing Aadhaar card. Apart from this, after the amendment of the Act of August 2023, birth certificates made only through Aadhar card will be cancelled.
The government has taken this decision to stop fake birth and death certificates being used for illegal purposes. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has ordered to cancel all suspicious certificates issued using Aadhaar card.

Instructions for action against officials
Besides, instructions have also been given to take action against the officers who have issued these certificates so far. The Revenue Department has issued 16-point verification guidelines to all tehsildars, sub-divisional officers, district commissioners and divisional commissioners.
Yogi government of UP also issued order
Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has also issued instructions regarding this. Aadhaar card will no longer be considered as proof of date of birth.
Police case will be registered against the suspects
Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has ordered the cancellation of all suspicious documents. Along with this, instructions have also been given to take action against those officers who issued fake documents. Minister Bawankule also said that if any discrepancy is found in the applicant’s information and date of Aadhaar card, a police case will be registered.
If a person is unable to produce the original documents, he will be declared a fugitive. FIR will be registered against him also.
