Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has taken a big and commendable decision regarding education and youth. The board has announced that free NEET coaching centers will be started for the students of Katra and surrounding areas. Its purpose is to give an opportunity to those students who dream of becoming doctors but are unable to afford expensive coaching.
This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of the Shrine Board, Manoj Sinha. In the meeting, many proposals related to facilities for pilgrims, education, sports, environment and local development were approved.
Poor and hardworking students will get direct benefits
NEET is considered one of the toughest examinations in the country. Lakhs of students appear in this examination every year for admission to medical colleges. In such a situation, this initiative of the Shrine Board has brought relief especially for those students who are not able to take good coaching due to financial reasons.
According to the board, these free NEET coaching centers will be equipped with modern facilities. Here experienced teachers will teach and students will also get proper guidance along with studies. With this, students of Katra and surrounding areas will also be able to prepare like students of big cities.
Trying to link education with service
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine is not only a center of faith but also a medium of service and society building. Starting NEET coaching is a part of this thinking. He says that strengthening the youth through education is the biggest service.
The Shrine Board believes that when local students become doctors, they will be able to serve their area in a better way in future. This will improve health facilities in the entire area.
Insurance amount increased for passengers
Another important decision was taken in the meeting regarding pilgrims. Now the insurance amount for the devotees coming on Vaishno Devi Yatra has been increased to Rs 10 lakh. In case of any accident, this amount will prove to be of great help to the passengers or their families.
