This time there is a big good news for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. To overcome the problem of water in agriculture and to provide relief from the increasing expenses of electricity and diesel, the state government has started a new scheme for installing solar pumps. Under this scheme, the government will provide a total of 40,521 solar pumps at 60% subsidy, which means the farmers will have to spend very little money from their own pockets, the rest of the expenses will be borne by the government itself.
Officials of the Agriculture Department said that this year the process of providing solar pumps will be on the basis of ‘first come-first serve’, that is, the farmer who applies first and completes all the papers will get priority. The government wants that the farmers of every district should get equal opportunity, hence a fixed number of pumps will be allotted for all the districts.
Registration will be done for just Rs 5,000
To avail the benefits of this scheme, farmers will have to deposit a token fee of Rs 5,000 while applying. This amount will be taken to confirm the registration so that the application process can run smoothly and without any disturbance. The department believes that this will reduce fake applications and the real needy farmers will be able to easily take advantage of the scheme.
Benefits of this scheme for farmers
- With the launch of this scheme, farmers will get many benefits.
- The biggest benefit will be reduction in expenditure because the government will bear up to 60% of the expenditure.
