Big news for those traveling on the highway! FASTag annual pass fees will increase from April 1

FASTag annual pass hike: If you are also one of those travelers who frequently travel through the highway, then this news is for you. Actually, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is going to increase the annual fee of FASTag for the new financial year (2026-27)."viewsHeaderText" style="text-align: justify;">From April 1, 2026, the price of FASTag annual pass has been increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 3075. That means the price has been increased by Rs 75 (about 2.5 percent). FASTag is an electronic toll collection system, which allows traveling without cash on national highways and expressways. This annual pass is a prepaid option for frequent travelers, allowing users to pass through tolls without any interruption by making a one-time payment.

How long will the annual pass be valid?

This annual pass will be valid for 1 year or 200 toll crossings (whichever is earlier). After completion of 200 trips, the pass will automatically convert into normal FASTag (Pay-per-use). You will have to activate it again. Even though there has been a slight increase in the fee amount, it is important for those users who often travel on the highway.

In the meantime, those who want to purchase or renew their Annual Pass can still do so at the current price before the new rates come into effect. FASTag Annual has many benefits – hassle-free toll payment, less waiting time at toll plazas and economical travel for frequent travelers.

Who can use it?

Annual pass can be used for both private and commercial vehicles. However, its coverage is limited. That means it is valid at about 1,150 toll plazas (National Highways and Expressways) across the country. This will not work on state highways or private toll roads.

How to renew or activate Annual Pass?

  • First of all install Rajmarg Yatra App or visit NHAI website
  • Login with your registered mobile number and OTP received on it
  • Select ‘Annual Toll Pass’ option and enter your vehicle registration number (VRN)
  • Pay Rs 3000 (by 31st March) through UPI/Debit/Credit card or Net Banking
  • Your FASTag will be activated within about 2 hours of payment
