The salary of India’s Test and ODI team captain Shubman Gill is going to increase. After getting promotion, his salary can be equal to that of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. According to India Today, when BCCI releases the next central contract list, Gill can be kept in A+ category.
India vs South Africa T20 series will conclude on 19th December. According to a report published in India Today, after the end of this T20 series, the Annual General Meeting of BCCI can be held on 22nd December. Shubman Gill may get promotion in this meeting. In this meeting, a decision can also be taken on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli whether they should get a place in the central contract or not, because now they play only in ODI format.
Last year only 4 players were included in Grade A+ of the Central Contract List. The names of these 4 players are Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Players coming in Grade A+ get an annual salary of Rs 7 crore.
Players with Grade A+ in BCCI’s Central Contract List get Rs 7 crore a year. Whereas players coming in Grade A get an annual salary of Rs 5 crore. Players falling under Grade B get a salary of Rs 3 crore per year and players under Grade C get a salary of Rs 1 crore per year.
Shubman Gill currently comes in Grade A, so till now he was getting an annual salary of Rs 5 crore. Let us tell you that Gill is the captain of India’s T20 and Test team. He is also the vice-captain of the T20 team.
