Big opportunity for free LPG cylinder, know who can take advantage of this scheme

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is to provide gas connection to every household in the country and women can be protected from diseases caused by smoke. Ujjwala scheme was started in 2016. Through this scheme, the government has supplied LPG gas to lakhs of families.

Women who earlier used to cook food on wood stoves. This not only got them relief from it. Rather, it also had a positive impact on the environment. Now the government is again giving the benefit of giving free gas cylinders under this scheme.

Only those families who fall below the poverty line or whose names are registered in the Socio-Economic Census i.e. SECC 2011 can avail the benefit of this scheme. Apart from this, Scheduled Caste, Tribe, Extremely Backward Class, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or Antyodaya card holders are also considered eligible.

To apply for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, you must have documents like Aadhar Card, Ration Card, Bank Passbook and passport size photo. Application can be done both online and offline.

For online application one has to go to the official LPG portal. To apply offline, you have to go to your nearest gas agency and fill the form. The agency staff checks your documents and if everything is found correct, the gas connection is issued.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries also get free stove along with LPG connection and for the first time, gas cylinder. In some cases the government also gives discount on refills. If you also want to take advantage of Ujjwala scheme then do not delay. Apply with required documents.
