Kolkata Metro Railway has announced a big recruitment for the youth even before the beginning of the new year. The organization has invited applications for 128 Act Apprentice posts in various technical trades. 10th pass and ITI qualified candidates can apply online for this recruitment. How many posts will be recruited in total?
Under the notification, applications have been invited for a total of 128 Act Apprentice posts in four technical trades. These include 82 posts of Fitter, 28 posts of Electrician, 9 posts of Engineer and 9 posts of Welder (Gas and Electric). The application process will start from 23 December 2025 and will continue till 22 January 2026. Interested candidates can apply online within the stipulated period. Ability
It is mandatory for the candidate to have passed 10th and must have at least 50 percent marks. Along with this, ITI certificate related to the selected trade is also required. The age limit will be calculated considering 22 January 2026 as the base, in which the minimum age has been fixed at 15 years and maximum 24 years. Candidates who are more or less than the prescribed age limit will not be able to apply. Also, reservation categories will be given the benefit of age relaxation as per the rules.
This is how the selection will be done
The selection process will be completely merit based. Separate merit lists will be prepared according to each trade and category. If two candidates have equal marks, then the candidate with older age will get priority. However, if the age is found to be equal, then the candidate who has passed matriculation first will be given the upper position in the list. On the basis of the merit list, candidates will be called for document verification in the ratio of 1:50. The final selection of the candidates will be made only after checking the documents and passing the medical fitness test.
Will I have to pay this much application fee?
Talking about the application fee, a fee of Rs 100 will be charged from General, OBC and EWS category candidates whereas SC, ST, Disabled and all women candidates have been given complete exemption in fee. The application fee will be deposited in online mode only.

Step 2: If you are a new user, register first.
Step 3: Fill your personal and educational information carefully.
Step 4: Now upload all the necessary documents, like mark sheet, ITI certificate, identity card, passport size photo.
Step 5: After this deposit the prescribed application fee.
Step 6: Now candidates select trade and training centre.
Step 7: Finally submit the application form and keep its printout safe.
