An important and relief news has come to the fore for crores of farmers of the country. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has made preparations to make the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme more simple, clean and farmer-friendly. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra has said that new guidelines will be issued for this scheme, so that farmers face less trouble in taking loans and they can get money on time. This step is expected to directly benefit the laborers and small farmers engaged in agriculture as well as related work.
Under the new scheme of RBI, the scope of Kisan Credit Card will be expanded more than before. The different rules for farming and all related activities will be brought together and updated. Its purpose is that farmers do not face any problem in understanding different rules and banks can also give loans easily.
The proposed changes include uniformizing the crop season, increasing the period of KCC and fixing the loan limit according to each crop cycle. With this, farmers will not have to do paper work again and again and will be able to get money easily at the time of need.
Proposal to extend the period of KCC to 6 years
Till now the period of Kisan Credit Card was limited, but under the new guidelines there is a proposal to extend it to 6 years. With this, farmers will not need to get a new card made every year or go to the bank again and again. It will also be easier to plan farming by working with the same card for a long time.
Expenses related to technology will also get approval
Now the use of technology in farming is increasing rapidly. Farmers also need drip irrigation, sprinklers, small agricultural equipment and digital equipment. In the new guidelines of RBI, it has been said that technology related expenses should also be included in the loan under KCC. This will promote modern farming and also reduce the costs of farmers.
