On December 31, 2025, the Union Cabinet approved several important decisions related to telecom, infrastructure and export sectors, which will impact the country’s connectivity, economic growth and employment.
Vodafone Idea, which is stuck in debt in the telecom sector, got a big relief package; AGR dues of ₹87,695 crore were allowed to be repaid over 10 years from FY2032–FY2041, which will reduce pressure on cash flow and maintain competition.
In infrastructure, NH-326 widening project in Odisha (₹1,526 crore) and Nashik–Solapur–Akkalkot six-lane highway in Maharashtra (₹19,142 crore) got green signal, which will reduce travel time and increase employment.
Market Access Support worth ₹4,351 crore was launched for exports, which will provide global push to tourism, textiles, defense and healthcare sectors.
