A big revelation has come to light in the case of firing at the house of famous Bollywood producer-director Rohit Shetty. Investigation by Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that the shooter of Bishnoi gang had used sophisticated country made weapon for the firing. With this high-quality weapon, five 7.62 mm bullets were fired at Rohit Shetty’s house.

Firing with ultra-modern weapon

According to the investigation, the 7.62 mm bullet is a widely used caliber, with a diameter of approximately 0.308 to 0.311 inches. It is mainly used in rifles and machine guns. Two common variants—7.62×51mm NATO (used in M14, FN FAL, M60) and 7.62×39mm (used in AK-47, SKS)—are in use. These bullets typically weigh between 123 to 175 grains and are known for their high velocity, deep penetration and effectiveness.

The Crime Branch is investigating which of the two, which type of 7.62 mm bullet was used by the shooter. Also, during the investigation, there have been indications of the presence of some other operatives of the Bishnoi gang along with the shooter at the spot, efforts to identify them are underway.

The shooter had received Rs 10,000

Investigation has also revealed that the two arrested accused, Siddharth Yenpure and Swapnil Sakat, had received a total of Rs 10,000 for delivering the scooter from Pune to the Mumbai shooter.

This amount was given by the firing mastermind Shubham Lonkar to the accused Samarth Pomaji, who gave this money to both the accused after returning to Pune after the delivery of the scooter. The crime branch is also finding out the total amount given by Bishnoi gang to carry out the crime. For this, the bank transaction details of the accused are being scrutinized.

According to Crime Branch sources, after the firing, the shooter ran away on the scooter for some distance. After this he asked an auto driver about going to Kalyan, but the driver refused. Later, another auto driver dropped him just before Vile Parle railway station, whose statement has been recorded by the police. Due to closure of local trains, the shooter resorted to private transport and fled out of Mumbai.

Sources claim that the accused shooter has been identified and efforts to arrest him have been intensified. A senior official said that the accused has been identified and several teams are busy tracing him. So far, statements of more than a dozen people have been recorded in this case.

Rohit Shetty’s security increased

After the firing incident by Bishnoi gang, Mumbai Police has increased the security of Rohit Shetty. According to the information, before the firing, two police personnel were deployed for his security, but now the security arrangements at his house and personal have been further increased.
