The 2025 report of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission says that this year the activities of India, China, Pakistan and Russia most influenced the politics and security of entire Asia. According to the report, the role of the three countries on big forums like India-Pakistan clash of May 2025, China-India border talks and SCO-BRICS was most important this year.
India-Pakistan four-day war: biggest confrontation in 50 years
The report states that the conflict that took place between India and Pakistan from 7 to 10 May 2025 was the biggest military conflict of the last 50 years. In response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, the Indian Army attacked nine places in Pakistan on May 7 and destroyed terrorist hideouts. These terrorist hideouts belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen. 26 innocent people lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack. India responded strongly and both countries launched air and missile attacks deeper into each other’s areas than before. The report says that this had never happened in the last five decades.
China gave live information to Pakistan
The report also includes a statement from the Indian Army, which says that during the confrontation, China sent live, real-time information about the Indian Army to Pakistan, i.e. complete updates about where the Indian soldiers are and how they are moving. Pakistan called these claims false, while China did not give any clear response. The report says that China used this opportunity to test its technology and weapons in real war.
82 percent of Pakistan’s weapons are Chinese
According to the report, between 2019 and 2023, 82% of Pakistan’s weapons came from China. These Chinese weapons were used for the first time in real war in the war of May 2025. HQ-9 air defense, PL-15 missile and J-10 fighter jet were used by Pakistan in this fight. After the war, China also offered to sell 40 new J-35 fighter planes, KJ-500 and new missile-defense technology to Pakistan.
China spread fake AI pictures regarding Rafale
There is another shocking claim in the report. It said that immediately after the clash, China spread fake AI photos and videos on social media to defame India’s Rafale aircraft. Fake accounts shared fake images created by AI and video game style pictures and claimed that Chinese weapons had brought down the Indian Rafale. French intelligence agencies investigated this claim and confirmed that Indonesia stopped the Rafale deal due to this propaganda.
China-Pakistan partnership further strengthened by military exercises
The report says that in 2024 and 2025, China and Pakistan conducted several joint military exercises, such as Warrior-VIII and AMAN Naval Drill. These exercises show that the China-Pakistan security partnership is stronger than ever and is a direct threat to India’s security.
India-China talks increased, but trust did not return
In the report, the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin has been described as a big step. Both the countries agreed to reduce border tensions, increase economic relations, restart flights and open Tibet for Indian travelers by 2026, but the report clearly says that these things remained only on paper. Neither the border situation changed on the ground nor the soldiers retreated.
India and China’s thinking on border dispute is completely opposite
The report says that China wants to consider the border dispute as a separate issue and move forward with other relations like trade, but India says that unless there is peace on the border, other relations cannot move forward. This is the biggest security issue for India.

At the SCO meeting held in Tianjin in August-September 2025, India, China and Russia signed a joint declaration criticizing the US and Israel’s bombing of Iran. This was the first time that India signed an indirect criticism of America at an international forum. On India’s demand, the Pahalgam terrorist attack of 2025 was also included in this announcement.
China-Russia are creating a new power structure through BRICS-SCO
The report says that China and Russia are creating a new global structure in comparison to the Western countries by combining BRICS and SCO. Among the 10 BRICS countries, China alone accounts for 62% of GDP and is described as the voice of the Global South. The report describes SCO as a big platform against America, in which India is also an important member.
The entire picture of Asia will change in 2025. The security partnership between China and Pakistan has become very strong. India-China talks are continuing, but trust has not returned between the two. Russia and China are building BRICS and SCO as a new global power, in which India is also playing a key role.
