Toyota’s new generation Fortuner has been spotted testing for the first time and it is believed that it may be launched in India in 2027. This new Fortuner is being built on the IMV platform based on Hilux. The special thing is that now hybrid technology can also be seen in it. The glimpse that has emerged during its testing in Thailand clearly shows that this model will look more modern and stronger than before.
There will be a big change in design and size
The look of the new Toyota Fortuner will be more premium than before. Its design may look somewhat like a Lexus SUV. The size of the vehicle will increase and its wheelbase will also be longer. This will provide more space to the people sitting inside. Its style will remain boxy, but the new styling will make it stronger and more powerful. Front and rear design will be completely new. The new Fortuner will look bigger and more attractive on the road than before, which will further strengthen its road presence.
Interior and features will be completely new
Big changes will be seen inside the new generation Fortuner. It will have a new dashboard design and better quality material will be used. Features like large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and sunroof for the first time can be found in it. The cabin will be more modern and comfortable as compared to the current model. The feature list will also be updated, which will make this SUV feel more premium.
Engine and launch details
The new Fortuner in India can be initially offered with 2.8 liter diesel and 2.7 liter petrol engines. Mild hybrid technology is expected to be available with diesel engine. There are no plans for a fully electric Fortuner as of now. Its launch in India may happen in 2027, because it will take time to arrive.
