Indian fast bowler Shardul Shardul Thakur, who was traded from Lucknow Super Giants to Mumbai Indians for Rs 2 crore before IPL 2026, says that former captain Rohit Sharma had given him permission to play openly.
34-year-old fast bowler Shardul, who played Test cricket on the England tour this year, is hoping to relive the good old days in Mumbai Indians. Shardul, who joined Rohit again, said, “We will know more when we sit together.” It will be a lot of fun.
“He made me feel comfortable,” he said. He allowed me to live freely with him. He let me play freely. We became comfortable with each other and he had a big role in this.
Shardul had a successful start as a supporting player for Mumbai Indians and not long after that he got an IPL contract. He said that his initial experience in the dressing room had a positive impact on his career.
Shardul said, “I was lucky that I got dressing room experience in my early days. I was already feeling comfortable in front of senior players. Somehow, the way I was treated during the Mumbai Indians camp, that small gesture by Mumbai Indians helped me a lot in moving forward in my career.
He said, “I got to play practice matches. I bowled with the new ball, which took my morale and confidence to another level and I was taking wickets.
