Pakistan may withdraw its decision to boycott the match with India in T20 World Cup 2026. Earlier it was told that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is ready to talk to ICC regarding this matter. Now according to Times of India, 2 representatives of ICC have reached Lahore regarding the topic of India vs Pakistan match.
According to Times of India, ICC Vice President Imran Khawaja and Associate Member Director Mubashir Rahmani reached Lahore on 8 February. He was invited by PCB, so that the problem arising regarding India-Pakistan match could be solved. ICC’s decision to send its representatives to Pakistan clearly shows that it is in favor of finding a solution to this problem as soon as possible.
9% chance of India-Pak match happening
According to another report of news agency IANS, there is a 99% possibility of India vs Pakistan match taking place after the meeting of ICC and Pakistan Cricket Board. There are speculations that Pakistan may reverse its decision of boycott.
Earlier on February 1, the Pakistan government had announced that the Pakistan national cricket team will not play India in the T20 World Cup. There was a lot of uproar over this, but till now the Pakistan Cricket Board had not directly contacted ICC in this regard.
Let us remind you that ICC had raised questions on the decision to boycott Pakistan. On the other hand, Sri Lanka Cricket Board had also warned Pakistan that there could be some adverse consequences of not holding the India vs Pakistan match, which would also affect the economy of Sri Lanka.
