Important decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday, December 9, and 48 departments were reduced from 45. In which three new departments were created and two departments were expanded. After getting the seal of approval from the Governor, the government has also transferred officers to work on the new departments smoothly, and now a minister has also been selected for that department.
Now, on the instructions of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in the selection of ministers for all the departments, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has kept the newly created Civil Aviation Department with himself. Apart from the post of Chief Minister, he already had four departments which included General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Surveillance and Election departments. Now Civil Aviation will also remain with the Chief Minister, so a total of five departments will be with him. Education Minister Sunil Kumar has been given the responsibility of the new Higher Education Department. They already had the Education Department and the Technical Education Department of Science and Technology, now they have got three departments instead of two.
Sanjay Singh Tiger had already got the responsibility of Labor Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Department, but now that department was also divided into a new department for youth and its name was given as Youth Employment and Skill Development Department. The responsibility of this new department has also been given to Sanjay Singh Tiger. Now he will have both Labor Resources and Migrant Workers Welfare Department and Youth Employment and Skill Development Department. The Art Cultural Department has been newly expanded and Arun Shankar Prasad has got the responsibility for it. Earlier he was given the responsibility of Tourism Department. Then Surendra Mehta has got the charge of Fisheries and Animal Resources Department and Dairy Department. Dairy department has also been expanded separately.
