While on one hand there was talk of giving place to young leaders and new faces in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, on the other hand many old and experienced leaders have become active again. This time 14 former MPs are contesting on tickets of different parties. This has made the entire election atmosphere more exciting. JDU has expressed maximum confidence of 5, RJD has 4, BJP and Jansuraj have 2 each, while AIMIM has expressed confidence in one former MP. There is discussion in the political circles that this time the parties have seen experience and mass base as the biggest capital.

BJP has again sent its two former MPs to the election battle. Ramkripal Yadav is in the fray from Danapur, who has previously been an MP from Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. The party hopes that his popularity will pave the way for victory in the assembly this time. On the other hand, Sunil Pintu has been made the candidate from Sitamarhi. He had earlier won on JDU ticket, but later joined BJP. Now the same seat has become a new test of his political future.

Experience is at the forefront of JDU’s strategy

This time, Nitish Kumar led JDU has expressed maximum trust in former MPs. For the party, this election is being considered an opportunity to strengthen the organization and expand its support base. The past of the candidates fielded from Jehanabad, Gopalpur, Karakat, Kadwa and Samastipur is full of strong political experience. Through these names, JDU wants to give the message that its politics is not based only on alliance, but on local public relations and trust.

RJD gave opportunity to former MPs

Rashtriya Janata Dal has also reiterated its trust in its old stalwarts. The candidates fielded from Jhajha, Mokama, Bihariganj and Dhamdaha have previously been in Parliament and have a strong hold among the public. The party leadership believes that the experience and local influence of these faces will provide stability to the organization. This time RJD’s strategy is clear: to pave the way to return to power with the help of tradition and popularity.

Different path of Jansuraj and AIMIM

Jansuraj Party, which is emerging with new energy in the politics of Bihar, has also placed bets on former MPs. Sarfaraz Alam has been made candidate from Araria and Dhirendra Agarwal from Gaya Town. The contest in Gaya has become interesting as there is a direct fight between BJP’s Prem Kumar and Jansuraj’s Aggarwal. AIMIM has given ticket to Monazir Hasan from Munger, who has previously been an MP there and has strong influence at the local level.

Old experience vs new enthusiasm

The main question this time in Bihar elections 2025 is whether the public will trust experience or give a chance to new faces. This time all the parties have prepared a mix of youth and veterans. Old MPs consider their experience as an asset, while new candidates are appealing to the public for change. Political analysts say that this time the people of Bihar will take their decision not just on promises but on the record of work.
