Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s first reaction has come amid the news of going to Rajya Sabha. On Thursday (March 05, 2026), the CM posted in this regard from his X handle. He said that you have maintained your trust and support with me continuously for more than two decades, on the basis of that we have served Bihar and all of you with full dedication. It was because of your trust and support that today Bihar is presenting a new dimension of development and respect. For this I have expressed my gratitude to you many times in the past also.
He said, “Since the time I started my parliamentary career, I had a desire in my mind to become a member of both the houses of the Bihar Legislative Assembly as well as the Parliament. In this sequence, I want to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the elections being held this time.”
For more than two decades, you have continuously maintained your trust and support in me, and on the basis of that, we have served Bihar and all of you with full dedication. He further wrote, “I want to assure you with all sincerity that this relationship of mine with you will continue in future also and my resolve to build a developed Bihar with you will remain the same. The new government that will be formed will have my full support and guidance.”
Let us tell you that after this post of the Chief Minister, it has now become clear that the Chief Minister of Bihar will be someone else. The news which was circulating till yesterday in the media quoting sources has now been confirmed. Now it has to be seen in whose hands the command of Bihar goes. There is discussion that while BJP will be the Chief Minister, two Deputy CMs will be made from JDU.
JDU workers expressed protest
When Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his desire to become a Rajya Sabha member, JDU workers protesting outside the Chief Minister’s residence said, “This is sad. Nitish Kumar has been serving the people of Bihar since the student movement till today… the people of Bihar consider him as their family. Apart from Nitish Kumar, no one else can be the Chief Minister here. We want Nitish Kumar to remain the Chief Minister.”
