Bihar Election 2025 Phase 1: Voting days for Bihar Assembly 2025 are now coming closer. Voting will be held in two phases in Bihar, for the first phase on 6th November and for the second phase on 11th November. During every election, there are many people who do not have Voter ID card. But the name is in the voter list. In such a situation the question arises whether they can vote? The answer is yes, the Election Commission has made special arrangements for those people.

Those who are unable to present their Voter ID card. The Commission says that if the name of the voter is in the voter list. So they can cast their vote by showing any one of the 12 valid documents for identification. Will be able to cast vote even without voter ID

The Election Commission has directed the Chief Electoral Officers of the states to provide EPIC cards to all voters on time. Those who do not yet have a card. He can cast his vote through any one of the 12 optional photo identity cards. The Commission said that under the Representation of the People Act 1951 and Electoral Roll Rules 1960.

He has the right to approve such optional documents to ensure the identity of the voter. This system will also be applicable in the by-elections to be held on eight assembly seats including Bihar. The Commission believes that this rule will prevent identification related problems and fake voting at polling stations.

These 12 documents will be valid for casting vote

If you do not have Voter ID. So you can vote by showing any one of the following valid documents for identification:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. MNREGA job card
  3. Passbook with photo issued from bank or post office
  4. Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the Ministry of Labor or Ayushman Bharat Scheme
  5. driving license
  6. PAN card
  7. Smart card issued under National Population Register (NPR)
  8. Indian passport
  9. pension document with photo
  10. Service Identity Card issued by Central or State Government, Public Undertakings or Public Limited Companies
  11. Official identity card issued to MP, MLA or MLC
  12. Unique Disability ID (UDID) card issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
