On Monday evening, there was a massive explosion at 6.52 pm near Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, the echo of which was heard far and wide. This incident has raised security concerns across the country. Just before the second phase of assembly elections in Bihar, this blast has become a warning to the administration.
Bihar Police Headquarters has put all the districts of the state on high alert. Superintendents of Police have been instructed to increase surveillance in crowded areas and take immediate action on any suspicious activity. According to the information, there was already an alert for election security in 20 districts in Bihar, now the remaining 18 districts have also been instructed to remain on intense vigil.
Voting will be held today on 122 seats in 20 districts
Voting is to be held on 122 seats in 20 districts today (November 11) in the second phase of Bihar Assembly elections 2025. To take stock of the security preparations in this regard, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) DG Gyanendra Pratap Singh reached Bihar Sector Headquarters on Monday and held a meeting with senior officials of the state police. In the meeting, the DG pledged to the central forces to ensure fear-free and fair voting.
A total of 1650 CAPF companies deployed in the second phase
DG Gyanendra Pratap Singh said that a total of 1650 CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces) companies are deployed in the second phase. These forces will ensure security of sensitive areas and polling stations. The DG directed to pay special attention to deployment of forces at polling stations, vigil in sensitive areas, safety of polling personnel and availability of voting material.
Advance deployment of all forces completed – IG Rajkumar
CRPF Bihar Sector IG Rajkumar told the meeting that advance deployment of all forces has been completed and officers are fully alert in their areas. He said that every possible step is being taken to prevent any untoward incident and to provide a safe voting environment to the voters.
Experts believe that it was very important to increase the security alert in Bihar after the Delhi blasts. The administration has also appealed to the citizens to immediately inform the police about any suspicious object or person.
Amidst these concrete preparations and the vigilance of the central forces, the voters of Bihar will be able to exercise their franchise tomorrow in a safe and fear-free environment. The administration has ensured that the voting process is conducted with complete fairness and security.
