Bihar Election: Rahul Gandhi will enter the electoral fray of Bihar on this day, it will start with the Grand Alliance rally with Tejashwi Yadav.


Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will start his campaign in the Bihar Assembly elections on Wednesday (October 29, 2025). He will address two joint public meetings in support of the Grand Alliance supported candidates in Sakra assembly constituency of Muzaffarpur and Darbhanga.

In these meetings, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and Grand Alliance’s Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav will also be present with him. Rajesh Rathore, head of the media department of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee, said on Monday (October 27, 2025) that this is Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to Bihar in view of the assembly elections.

Rahul Gandhi’s first joint public meeting in the election field

According to him, Rahul Gandhi will address his first rally in favor of Umesh Ram, the candidate fielded by the Grand Alliance from Sakra (reserved) seat. After this, Rahul Gandhi will appeal for support from the public in the meeting organized for the candidates of Grand Alliance including RJD in Darbhanga.

Rathore said that before this, Rahul Gandhi had traveled 1300 kilometers continuously for 16 days in different areas of Bihar. After the visit, this will be their first major joint public meeting in the electoral arena, where they will strongly raise the election strategy and issues of the Grand Alliance among the public.

Congress-RJD will field candidates on so many seats

It is noteworthy that the elections for 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on 6th and 11th November and counting of votes will be done on 14th November. While Congress had fielded candidates on 70 seats in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, this year the party is now contesting on 61 seats. There is a face-to-face contest between the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance on 11 seats.

Talking about RJD, this time RJD is contesting on a total of 143 seats, out of which the party is in direct competition with BJP on 51 seats. The remaining 91 candidates are in direct competition with the candidates of other constituent parties of NDA – JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM and VIP.
