CWC, the top policy -making unit of Congress in Patna, Bihar, met on Wednesday (24 September). Meanwhile, the seat sharing formula of the Grand Alliance (India alliance) of opposition parties has come out. Lalu Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) can contest 141 seats in 243 seats of the assembly. Congress can get 58 seats. At the same time, 35 seats for CPIML, CPI and CPM possible in the left. Mukesh Sahni’s VIP involved in the Grand Alliance can fight in 15 seats.

A little plus-minus is possible in this formula. If RLJP of Pashupati Paras, Hemant Soren’s JMM comes in the grand alliance, then 2-2 seats can also be given to them.

Sources say that at present, the formula is being discussed between the parties of the Grand Alliance for the assembly elections and as soon as all the parties agreed, it will be formally announced.

Congress’s strike rate was bad

The Congress contested 70 assembly seats in the 2020 elections, but its strike rate was very poor. This is the reason that this time he is getting less seats this time.

Bihar elections: Is Congress seats decreasing due to 2020 strike rate? Understand mathematics

RJD fought in 144 seats in 2020 and emerged as the largest party by winning 75 seats. RJD’s strike rate was 52 percent. The Congress got only 19 seats out of 70 seats. The party’s strike rate was 27 percent.

Left will increase seats

CPI (Male) contested 19, CPI 6 and CPI -M 4 seats. The strike rate of the CPI (Male) was the best. He won 12 seats in 19. The CPI and CPI-M got two seats each. That is, the strike rate of the left was 55 percent.

Now RJD is ready to fight four less seats in the assembly elections to be held at the end of this year. At the same time, Congress is demanding up to 65 seats. However, he can eventually get about 58 seats. That is, he will get 17 percent less seats than last time. Only the left figure is increasing compared to last time. He can get 35 seats.

RJD shocks in Lok Sabha elections

However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the condition of RJD was bad. RJD fought on 23 seats and could win only four seats. At the same time, Congress won three seats in 9. The Left fielded candidates for 5 seats and won two seats. This is the reason that now the Congress is claiming more seats in front of RJD in the assembly elections.

Mukesh Sahni’s developing human party (VIP) was in an alliance with BJP in the 2020 election and fought in 11 seats. This time his party is with the Grand Alliance and can get 15 seats. This is the big reason that RJD and Congress are losing seats in the alliance.
