A fire broke out in the hostel of a government engineering college in Bihar’s Jehanabad district on Monday, January 19, due to which six students fell ill due to the smoke. Officials said that these 6 students have been admitted to the hospital. The officer has also informed that the fire broke out due to short circuit in the hostel, which was brought under control after some time.
Principal Dwarka Das Neema said that the students started feeling dizzy due to the fire extinguisher gas but now their condition is stable. He said, “Preliminary investigation indicated that the fire may have been caused by the use of high voltage electrical equipment, which caused a short circuit. Investigation into the incident is underway.”
All possible help for the treatment of students
The Principal said that as soon as the information was received, the college administration reached the spot and every possible arrangement is being made for the safety and treatment of the students. The Principal said that due to the gas released from the fire, some students started feeling dizzy, but now their condition is stable.
Major accident averted due to people’s wisdom
As soon as information about the fire was received, the fire department was immediately informed, but there was no wait for the team to arrive. With the wisdom of the local people, the students were immediately helped and taken out of the hostel. The fire was brought under control before the fire department team arrived and the students were sent to the hospital when they fell ill. If people nearby had not come forward to help in time, a major accident could have occurred.
