Under this scheme, the pension amount is sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary women through DBT. Money is transferred to the account every month on a fixed date through the PFMS system from the state level.

Who can take benefit of this scheme?

Women who are residents of Bihar, who are widows and whose age is between 40 and 79 years can avail the benefit of this scheme. Apart from this, to avail the benefits of this scheme, women should belong to BPL family. Women who are not taking benefit of any other social security pension scheme are considered eligible for this scheme.

How can one apply for the scheme?

To apply for Widow Pension Scheme, the signed application form along with the documents has to be submitted at the RTPS counter of the block office. After submitting the application, a receipt is given, which is important to keep safely. The information about acceptance or rejection of the application is given through SMS or email. Upon approval, the order is collected from the RTPS counter by showing the identity card and receipt. After this, widow pension for women starts.

How to check pension status?

To check the status of pension, beneficiary women should go to the official portal of SSPMIS and click on e-beneficiary under important links. After this select check your payment status. Then fill the financial year and beneficiary ID and click on the search button.
