With the changing times, now farmers are moving from traditional farming and turning to profitable crops. Especially the cultivation of flowers has raised a new hope in the villages. In this episode, the Bihar government has launched a special scheme to increase the income of farmers, flower (marigold) development scheme. Under this scheme, 50% subsidy will be given to farmers who cultivate marigold.
Marigold flower is useful not only in temples and decorations, but also in medicines. Its demand remains throughout the year, especially during festivals and wedding season. This is the reason why farmers are now getting attracted rapidly towards its cultivation. The good thing is that it also costs low cost and profits are many times more.
How much will you get subsidy?
According to the information given by the Directorate of Horticulture of the Government of Bihar, the cost of Rs 80,000 per hectare has been considered on the cultivation of marigold flower. On this, farmers will be given subsidy of 50% i.e. Rs 40,000 per hectare. The benefit of the scheme will be available on the basis of “first come, first serve”. This scheme is applicable in all 38 districts of the state.
Who can take advantage of the scheme?
The farmer must have land papers (LPC and receipt).
Those who do not have land, they can also apply through Akaranama.
A farmer can avail this scheme up to a minimum of 0.1 hectare and a maximum of 2 hectares.
If the land is the name of someone else, then it will be necessary to apply with the lineage.

Farmers who want to take advantage of this scheme can apply by visiting the website https://horticulture.bihar.gov.in/. First you have to register on the DBT portal. After registration, the form will have to be filled under the “State Plan (State Plan)”. All the information sought in it will have to be filled correctly.
