Police has exposed a big international drugs racket from Maner police station area of Patna district. Here, illegal drug trade was being carried out under the guise of a tea shop. Based on secret information, the police raided and exposed this network and arrested 6 accused.
SSP Karthikeya Sharma said that a huge quantity of narcotics were recovered during the police raid. It contains 545 grams of smack and 558 grams of charas. Along with this, about Rs 12 lakh in cash, gold and silver jewelery have also been recovered from the accused.
Police raided and seized weapons
According to the police, this illegal wealth was created from the drug trade. Weapons kept for security were also found in the raid. Police have seized a country-made pistol, three live cartridges and a pistol magazine. It is clear from this that the accused were fully prepared to deal with any situation.
The network of drugs racket extends till Nepal
Investigation has revealed that the network of this drugs racket extends till Nepal. The accused used to get intoxicants from outside and then divided them into small bundles and sold them. The surprising thing is that the entire family was involved in this illegal business and drugs were supplied from home itself.
The gang used to target the young generation
Police say that the accused are connected to many districts of Bihar and other states of the country. This gang especially targeted the young generation.
On the whole matter, Patna SSP Karthikeya Sharma said that the police is continuously taking strict action against drugs and other people associated with this network are also being identified. There may be more arrests soon.
