In the Mannu Kumar murder case of Rohtas, four convicts including his girlfriend have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court of District Judge-4 Anil Kumar. Apart from the girlfriend, the four culprits include her husband, brother and her father. A financial fine of Rs 5,000 each has also been imposed on each culprit. The court’s decision came last Wednesday (January 21, 2026). After this, on Thursday (January 22, 2026), information was given to the media by the prosecuting officer.
The matter is of year 2019
Actually this entire matter is of March 2019. Mannu Kumar was called by his girlfriend to meet. After this, when Mannu reached, his stomach was torn with a knife. His private parts were cut off. Now after almost seven years the culprits have been punished. The accused punished are Suman Devi, Dudheshwar Chaudhary, Phoolchand Chaudhary and Prakash Chaudhary alias Prabhakar. All of them are from Bhagwanpur village.
Mannu’s father had filed a complaint
After the incident, Mannu’s father had lodged an FIR (case number 23/2019) at Agarer police station. The trial was going on in the court of District Judge-4. Additional Public Prosecutor of the prosecution Anil Kumar Singh said that the incident had happened on March 5, 2019. That day at around 7:20 pm, Mannu Kumar went out of the house after having dinner and did not return till late night.
The family members searched for him, but no information was found. The next morning, a person from the village informed that Mannu’s dead body was seen in the field. The body was identified by the family members. Marks of serious injuries were found on the body. According to the prosecution, the reason for the murder was said to be illicit relationship. In this case, testimony of a total of 9 witnesses was recorded by the prosecution. On the basis of witnesses and available evidence, the court convicted all four accused.
it was my girlfriend who called me
It was told that two days before the incident, Suman had come to her maternal home in Bhagwanpur from Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) with her husband. On the evening of March 4, 2019, Suman called and invited Mannu to meet. Mannu left the house without telling anyone, but never returned. The next day on March 5, his mutilated body was found in a mustard field.
