Bihar Development Commissioner Mihir Kumar Singh on Thursday (March 12, 2026) directed the officers and superintendents of police of all the districts of the state to strictly stop black marketing, illegal storage and unauthorized sale of domestic LPG gas cylinders. In view of the energy crisis situation arising from the current global scenario, he held a review meeting with the officials and superintendents of police of all the districts of the state.
Mihir Kumar Singh said that the government is fully alert to protect the interests of the common consumers and all necessary steps are being taken as per requirement. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar Choudhary directed to ensure regular inspection of gas agencies, warehouses and distribution system by running a special monitoring campaign in all the districts.
Instructions for monitoring social media
He said that if any complaint of black marketing or irregularities is received, immediate action should be taken against the concerned persons and agencies. Also, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar took a big decision and said that social media should also be monitored. Immediate action should be taken against those spreading rumors and black marketing. This instruction was given to all the Superintendents of Police. In the review meeting, instructions were also given to set up control rooms in all the districts to resolve the complaints of the general public.

Executive Director of Indian Oil attended the meeting
Anup Kumar Rai, Executive Director of Indian Oil and State Head of Bihar-Jharkhand, said that there is adequate availability of domestic gas cylinders in the state and the supply system is normal. He appealed to the consumers to avoid any kind of panic or unnecessary storage.
Anoop Kumar Rai also told that due to some technical reasons, the OTP system has been temporarily suspended by Indian Oil. In the meeting, representatives of petroleum companies also clarified that there is no problem in the supply of petrol and diesel in the state. Besides, the supply of PNG gas also remains normal.
