Nitish Kumar, who reached Shivhar on Monday (January 19, 2026) as part of ‘Samriddhi Yatra’, once again attacked the Lalu family. Regarding Lalu, Nitish Kumar said that when he had stepped down, he had made his wife (Rabri the CM), but was any work done in the whole of Bihar? It was a very bad situation.
The Chief Minister told the people, “Do you remember… what was the situation earlier… people did not come out of the house after the evening. How much conflict there was in the society… how much Hindu-Muslim conflict there was. What was the condition of education… it was very less… very few children were studying. Earlier there was no arrangement for treatment. There were no roads. Those that were there were in bad condition. There was very little electricity. After this, when we started working, we did it for everyone. Now some kind of Bihar. There is no fear in the state, there is an atmosphere of love, brotherhood and peace.”
Pointing towards the reign of Lalu-Rabri, he said, “They did not even do anything for the Muslims… When we came, they started sieging the cemeteries. First about 8000 cemeteries were cordoned off. Later some more cemeteries were marked… siege is being done. A temple which is more than 60 years old was cordoned off. Now everything is fine.”
Rapid development happening in all sectors: Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar said that we have worked in every way. Rapid development is taking place in all areas. Road bridges and culverts have been constructed on a large scale in the state. Under seven resolutions, tap water, electricity and toilets were provided to every home. Roads were built till the hamlets. Today electricity has been provided to every house, earlier this was not the case. There was little electricity in the city. Now domestic electricity (125 units) is being provided free of cost to all domestic consumers.
CM said that the government has developed all sections from the beginning. Be it Hindu, Muslim, backward, extremely backward, Dalit, Mahadalit. Work was done for all the elderly and disabled people. He also made it clear that the Central Government is also getting full support in the development of Bihar. Nitish Kumar also told people about Seven Nishchay-3.
