Within a month of government formation in Bihar, political rhetoric on the power equation has intensified. Political turmoil has increased due to allegations and counter-allegations between RJD and JDU leaders. Questions are being raised on the political strength of Nitish Kumar and his equations with BJP.
RJD’s Principal General Secretary and MLA Ranvijay Sahu has claimed in his latest statement that Nitish Kumar can return to RJD again. Sahu said that whenever Nitish Kumar says that he will not go with RJD, then the circumstances become such that he comes back. He alleged that Nitish is uncomfortable and scared because the Home Department, the Speaker’s post and both the Deputy CM posts are kept with him by BJP. Sahu even said that like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, BJP can adopt the strategy of changing the Chief Minister in Bihar also.
JDU rejected the claim
On the other hand, JDU has completely rejected RJD’s claims. JDU MLA Manjeet Singh said that RJD has been rejected by the public, hence the party is making such statements out of nervousness. He clearly said that the JDU and BJP alliance is completely strong and there is no possibility of any breakdown in it. Manjeet Singh claimed that Nitish Kumar will remain on the post of Chief Minister for the full 5 years and the NDA government will remain stable in Bihar.
There was tension on this issue in the House too, where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar targeted RJD and said that he had kept RJD together from time to time but after the disturbances started, the alliance had to be broken. Nitish clearly said that he will never go with RJD again. His statement has further intensified the political activities because RJD is calling it a sign of Nitish’s helplessness while JDU is considering it as the announcement of a stable government. This dispute in the politics of Bihar is indicating a major political reshuffle in the coming times.
