The Election Commission (EC) has started reviewing the final preparations for organizing Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. The Commission has started important meetings with all the state’s electoral officials from yesterday (29 September). In this episode, EC met all the commissioners of the state, IG, DIG, DM, SSP and SP through video conferencing. The meeting started from 9:30 am and lasted till 3 pm.
In the meeting, officers of 38 districts of Bihar had to submit reports of election preparations of their respective districts. This included the list of personnel, training status, availability of EVMs and VVPAT machines, security management, arrangement of vehicles and materials, voter list updates and all the details related to voter awareness campaign. EC gave necessary guidelines to the officials that all preparations should be ensured and there should be no shortage of any kind.
Online meeting will be held on security aspects in elections
According to the information, on October 1, the EC team will hold an online meeting. Which will include Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar, Income Tax Department officials, police nodal officers and other concerned agencies. In this meeting, all technical and security aspects of the election will be discussed and the final strategy will be decided.
The team will review the preparations for the election on October 4
After this, on October 4 and 5, the Election Commission team will visit Bihar. On October 4, the team will review the preparations for the election in Patna. For this meeting to be held in Patna, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office has prepared a special presentation. Chief Secretary, DGP, Central Security Forces officials and other senior officials will also be present in the meeting.
EC will visit all districts on 5 October
On October 5, the EC team will visit other districts of Bihar and take stock of the election preparations there. Earlier on October 3, EC held a meeting of observers in Delhi, in which they were made aware of the preparations, security arrangements and election strategies for the assembly elections to be held in Bihar.
These preparations of the Election Commission are to ensure that Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 should be concluded with complete transparency, fairness and security. The vigilance and timely review of EC will prevent any disturbance or deficiency in the election process. This step will give confidence and security confidence in both voters and political parties.
