In Bihar Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United) will contest on 101-101 seats, while Lok Janshakti Party (Ranvilas) will field its candidates on 29 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Upendra Kushwaha led party Rashtriya Lok Morcha will field their candidates on six seats each.

In the year 2020, JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, contested on 115 seats and BJP on 110 seats, while Paswan’s party contested alone. In the 2020 assembly elections in Bihar, JDU had gained 43 seats after losing 28 seats as compared to 2015. Whereas BJP won 21 more and took its tally to 74.

In the 2020 elections, Mukesh Sahni-led Vikas Insaan Party or VIP also contested the elections along with NDA. VIP in this election NDA Got 11 seats. Although VIP in this election – INDIA Is with the Alliance. VIP won 4 out of 11 seats and HAM won 4 out of 7 seats in the 2020 elections.

This is the first time that JD(U) is not contesting more seats than BJP in an assembly election, a clear indication of the new balance of power within the ruling alliance. Voting for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases on 6 and 11 November. Counting of votes will take place on November 14.

Who said what on NDA seat sharing?

NDA’s allies have reacted to the seat sharing. Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan posted on social media platform ‘X’ and said that we, the NDA family, have completed the distribution of seats for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 in a cordial atmosphere. BJP and JDU got 101-101 seats, while LJP got 29, RLM and HAM got 6-6 seats. He further said that Bihar is ready, again NDA government, this time with full strength, Bihar first, Bihari first.

Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) President Upendra Kushwaha wrote on ‘X’, we NDA friends met together and completed the distribution of seats in a cordial atmosphere. Workers and leaders of all NDA parties joyfully welcome this unanimous decision. Bihar is ready, NDA government again. JDU National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha posted on social media platform ‘X’ and said that we NDA friends have completed the distribution of seats in a cordial atmosphere. Leaders and workers of all NDA parties welcome the seat sharing formula with joy and are determined and united to make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister again with an overwhelming majority. Bihar is ready, NDA government again.
