Bijapur Encounter: Encounter between security forces and Naxalites continues in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, two soldiers injured

In Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, two soldiers were injured in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites on Tuesday. Police officials said that an encounter between security forces and Naxalites is going on in Gangalur police station area of the district, in which two soldiers of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) were injured.

He said that the DRG team in Gangalur area was dispatched on Monday for an anti-Naxal campaign and since the party reached the area on Tuesday, there has been a continuous encounter between security forces and Naxalites.

The injured soldiers are out of danger

Officials said that two DRG personnel had suffered minor injuries in the encounter. He told that the condition of both the injured soldiers is normal and they are out of danger.

Raipur being sent to injured soldiers

He informed that the injured soldiers are being sent to Raipur for better treatment after first aid. Officials said that many Naxalites are expected to be injured in the campaign. Bastar IG Sundararaj P has confirmed the encounter. Detailed information will be made available after the conclusion of the campaign.

Earlier, security forces had achieved great success against Naxalism in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Here 9 Maoists surrendered with a prize of 24 lakh rupees. In addition, security forces killed a Maoist during the encounter.

450 Maoists have been killed since December 2023

According to the information, about 450 Maoists have been killed in the state since December 2023. Apart from this, more than 1,500 Maoists have been arrested. At the same time, more than 1,500 Maoists have surrendered.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken of freeing the country from Naxalism by 31 March 2026. He also appealed to the Naxalites to adopt the Modi government’s surrender policy and enter the mainstream as soon as possible.
