Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav raised serious questions regarding the SIR process and voter list in a press conference held in Lucknow. He said that recently SIR exercise was conducted in which a large number of officers were deployed, but no political party opposed it.
Now that the voter list has come out, it is becoming clear that the fear of about three crore votes being cut is proving to be true. Akhilesh Yadav said that this was the same apprehension which was expressed earlier, whereas before the draft list came, the Chief Minister of UP himself had said that about four crore votes would be deducted.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the Chief Minister’s statements have been heard publicly and the former MP from Kannauj also said that three lakh votes have been cut so far and more will be cut in the future. He raised the question that when BJP leaders are saying such things openly, then it is natural to raise questions on the responsibility and role of the Election Commission. He said that this entire process points towards some conspiracy and conspiracy. Akhilesh Yadav expressed surprise and said that can anyone imagine that a plan is being made to increase votes by 200 everywhere and for this officers are being sent to the districts.

Referring to the by-election, the SP President said that during that time also questions were raised on the Election Commission. Despite photos and videos being made public at the time of Rampur elections, no concrete action was taken. He said that since such a big exercise is being conducted, it is important that only true and genuine voters are included in the list. Akhilesh Yadav demanded that at least in Uttar Pradesh the voter list should be linked to Aadhaar, so that transparency is maintained. He said that BLOs are the same, but the figures of National and UP are coming out differently, which deepens the doubt. Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the government has given instructions to increase the votes by 200 and for this, the format of FIR has also been prepared, in which the workers will have to fill only the names.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that all this is being done for the benefit of BJP and there are preparations for manipulation on a large scale in UP. He says that instead of removing votes, BJP is trying to double the votes, about which the Election Commission should take immediate cognizance.
He said that the Election Commission itself should explain how at the same time, in the SIR conducted by the same BLO, the number of voters from the entire state could be about 13 lakh less than the voters from rural areas only. He said that according to the information of the Commission, about 1 crore 93 lakh votes were unmapped after mapping, whereas about 2 crore votes are said to be mapped and now it is being called an error.
