N Biren Singh resigns from CM post in February
It is noteworthy that N Biren Singh resigned as the Chief Minister of Manipur in February this year. After this, President’s rule was implemented in the state. The reason behind this resignation was told about the long -running violence in the state. The violence began in May 2023 when a conflict between the Meeti and the Cookie community started. At present, there are a total of 59 MLAs in Manipur while one MLA has passed away.
