BJP President Election 2026: BJP will get a new national president on Tuesday (January 20). But this time a historic change will be seen in the history of the party in the presidential elections. For the first time, founding members LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi have been left out of the voter list.
The exclusion of Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi from the voter list is not due to any personal reason, but is based on the organizational process. According to the constitution of BJP, before the election of the National President, it is necessary to complete all the organizational elections in 50 percent of the states from booth to state level. But this time this process could not be completed in Delhi state, due to which the selection of National Council members was stalled and Advani-Joshi were left out of the constituency.
5708 voters will participate
A total of 5708 voters will take part in the election of BJP national president. According to tradition, the president is selected by consensus. This time the prominent name in the discussion is that of Nitin Nabin, who is also currently the National Working President of BJP. In such a situation, this election is being considered a mere formality.
Although both the senior leaders are not in the voter list, yet they will remain active in the Margdarshak Mandal. Political experts are considering this as a sign of a new era in the party, in which rules are being strictly implemented.
