Political activities for Rajya Sabha elections have intensified in many states of the country. BJP has released the first list of its 9 candidates for Rajya Sabha. The names of two candidates each have been announced from Bihar, Assam and Odisha, while the names of one candidate each have been announced from Chhattisgarh, Haryana and West Bengal. These two faces get a chance in Assam

Apart from this, BJP has nominated Terash Gowala and Jogen Mohan from Assam. The two faces from Odisha who have got a chance include the names of Manmohan Samal and Sujit Kumar. BJP has included the names of Lakshmi Verma from Chhattisgarh and Sanjay Bhatia from Haryana in the list of BJP candidates.

When will the elections for Rajya Sabha seats be held?

Let us tell you that elections will be held on 37 Rajya Sabha seats from different states of the country. Voting date is 16 March. Now only one day is left in the election process, 3rd and 4th March will be a holiday due to Holi, hence nominations can be made only till 5th March. The tenure of 5 Rajya Sabha MPs from Bihar is ending, these include Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, Upendra Kushwaha, Union Minister Ramnath Thakur, Premchandra Gupta, Amarendra Dhari Singh. Harivansh and Ramnath Thakur come from JDU, Premchandra Gupta and Amarendra Dhari from RJD and Upendra Kushwaha from RLMO.
