During the Republic Day celebrations in Maharashtra, a sudden blast occurred near the Police Parade Ground on the morning of Monday, 26 January. Five people have been reported injured in this accident. It is being told that a massive explosion occurred due to the explosion of a nitrogen gas cylinder belonging to a person selling balloons.
This explosion occurred at around 9:15 on Monday morning. Barely a few 100 meters away from the Malegaon Police Parade Ground, where the Republic Day flag hoisting ceremony was going on. Additional District Collector, senior police officers, school students and a large number of common people participated in this program.
Panic in the surrounding area after the blast
A balloon seller was filling nitrogen gas in the balloon at a short distance from the parade ground. Then the cylinder suddenly burst. The explosion was so powerful that the sound was heard far away, causing panic in the surrounding areas.
Two children were also among the injured.
At the time of the incident, many common people had gathered there to buy balloons during Republic Day celebrations. Five people named Vinod Thorat, Mohit Jadhav, Atul Shewale, Pramila Yadav and Ujjwala Mahajan were seriously injured in the blast. The injured include two children and two women.
The condition of two victims was said to be critical, after which they were taken to Nashik for advanced medical care. The cause of the blast is under investigation.
Identification of those injured in the accident
The people injured in this accident have been identified. According to the information received by the police, five people including Vinod Thorat, Mohit Jadhav, Atul Shewale, Pramila Yadav and Ujjwala Mahajan got burnt in this accident. All the injured were immediately taken to the local private hospital. The two injured, whose condition is critical, have been referred to Nashik for treatment.
