High blood pressure symptoms: High blood pressure i.e. high blood pressure has become a common but dangerous disease in today’s time. It causes damage to the body from inside slowly and without any particular symptoms. Often people ignore it because in the beginning it does not feel any major effect. But if blood pressure is not controlled for a long time, then it affects the heart, brain, eye, kidney and whole body. Let us know what happens inside the body when there is high blood pressure.
1. Damage to arteries
When the blood pressure is constantly increased, it puts more pressure on the walls of our arteries. Gradually, small cuts or breaks start to break on the walls of the arteries. Fat and cholesterol starts freezing in these places which are called plaque. This makes the arteries narrow and reduces blood flow. This condition increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.
2. Effect on brain and threat of stroke
High blood pressure also affects the brain ie the veins of the brain. Due to persistent pressure, a vein can burst or block. When the flow of blood stops in the brain, stroke can occur. Apart from this, due to long high blood pressure, small veins of the brain become weak. This can cause problems like decreasing memory, decreasing thinking ability and dementia.
3. Damage to the eyes
Our eyes have very thin and delicate blood ducts. Due to high blood pressure, pressure on these ducts increases. The ducts may burst, inflammation may occur or the blood flow may decrease. This can result in blurred appearance, swelling in the eyes or losing the ability to see forever in severe condition.
4. Effect on heart
In high blood pressure, the heart has to work more than normal so that blood can reach the whole body. Because of this, the heart muscles begin to become thick and hard, which is called left ventricular hypertrophy. Initially the heart seems strong, but gradually it starts to weaken and is unable to pump blood in the right way. This can result in heart failure (heart failure).
5. Kidney damage
Kidney work is to remove toxic elements and excess water from the body. But when the blood pressure is continuously more, then the blood cells of the kidney also start deteriorating. This reduces the ability to filter the kidney. High blood pressure in the long run can cause kidney failure.
High blood pressure is a “silent killer” because it gradually damages every part of the body and does not even know. Therefore, from time to time, your blood pressure should be checked. If the doctor has written the medicine, then it should be taken regularly. Also, a balanced diet, regular exercise, low salt intake and reducing stress is necessary to control blood pressure.
