Bihar Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Sinha is talking about running a big campaign to end land disputes, but violent incidents in land disputes are not showing any signs of decreasing. A big case has come from the capital Patna, where two real brothers were shot dead during a reception party in Shahpur village of Gopalpur police station area on Sunday night. The incident happened when many people were gathered at the reception party and suddenly bullets started firing.
According to the information, the reception party of his son was going on at the house of a person named Daulat Rai on Sunday night in Shahpur village under Gopalpur police station of Patna. 32-year-old Manish Kumar and 23-year-old Manjeet Kumar, both real brothers, had come from nearby to attend the party. At that very moment bullets started firing in the party and both the brothers were targeted and shot directly. There was a commotion in the party due to the firing. Both the brothers fell unconscious. Both of them were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where the doctor declared both of them dead.
The accused were identified
On receiving information about the incident, many senior police officers including Gopalpur police station arrived. Patna East SP Parichak Kumar said that both the deceased are real brothers and the criminals have been identified. An arrest will be made very soon. In this, old land disputes are coming to the fore. Three shells have been recovered from the spot.
40 year old land dispute
Giving detailed information, the father of the deceased Manish and Manjeet said that there was a 40-year-old dispute going on with the nearby brothers Krishna Rai and Prem Rai over 6 acres 56 decimal land. Gopalpur police station including DSP, SP, IG, DIG all know this. The matter was in the court and about four to five months ago the court had given its decision in his favor. After which Krishna Rai and Prem Rai, both brothers and their sons and families were in panic.
father had suspicions
The father of the deceased told that both the sons were going to a party at night, when he suspected that some untoward incident might happen. That’s why he had forbidden both his sons not to go to the party, but they went and what was feared happened. This incident once again shows the seriousness of violent incidents related to land disputes in Bihar.
