Actually, it is necessary to delimulate ward before every election so that the electoral sector can be decided according to the growing population and changing circumstances.
State Election Commissioner reviews preparations
Meanwhile, Maharashtra State Election Commissioner Dinesh Waghmare reviewed the election preparations at BMC headquarters on Friday. Senior officials of the Municipal Corporation and State Election Commission were present in this meeting. During the meeting, emphasis was laid on strengthening facilities at polling stations.
Waghmare said that adequate arrangements should be made at every booth for the convenience of voters. He instructed the officials to conduct a large -scale campaign to make the voters aware.
Why is the ward delimitation important?
Ward delimitation is an important process. It becomes even more important in a large population city like Mumbai. This determines which part of which ward will come in which ward. This directly affects the electoral strategy of leaders and parties. This is the reason that every time objections and suggestions on delimitation come in large numbers.
