Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was taken out of his official residence ‘The Lodge’ in Canberra on Tuesday (24 February) due to security reasons. This decision was taken after receiving a bomb threat in Canberra. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) conducted a thorough search of the entire complex. However, nothing suspicious was found here. After about 3 hours, PM Anthony Albanese was allowed to return to his residence again.
PM shifted to a safe place
According to the report of Australian news agency ABC, after receiving the threat, the Prime Minister was shifted to a safe place for several hours. Australian police said that after a three-hour intensive search of the campus, nothing suspicious was found in the residence. Police made it clear that now there is no threat of any kind to the community or public safety.
The Australian Federal Police said in a statement that at around 6 pm local time, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) escorted Prime Minister Albanese out of his Canberra residence ‘The Lodge’. The premises were searched but nothing suspicious was found. After which he returned to his residence again at 9 o’clock.
Prime Minister thanked the security personnel
The Prime Minister’s Office told the ABC it had confidence in the police. The Prime Minister’s Office also thanked the security personnel for their work.
