30 years after ‘Border’, one of the most brilliant war films of Hindi cinema, its sequel is coming to the theaters again this Friday to refresh the old memories. Although only Sunny Deol has made a comeback among the old actors in the sequel, the rest of the star cast is new.
Directed by Anurag Singh, this film weaves together untold stories of heroic exploits of the Army, Air Force and Navy. It shows how the three armies worked together when tensions escalated after Pakistan’s attacks (Operation Genghis Khan). The filmmakers are bringing a fantastic war drama full of sacrifice, emotions and patriotism.

Sunny Deol will be seen in the lead role in the film. He will play the role of Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler. Varun Dhawan will be seen as Param Vir Chakra winner Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, who is honored for his leadership abilities in the Battle of Basantar, where he held the position despite being seriously injured.
In the film, Diljit Dosanjh played the role of Indian Air Force Flying Officer Nirmal Jeet Singh Sekhon, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for protecting the Srinagar Air Base during the war. Whereas Ahan Shetty plays the role of an Indian Navy officer. Mona Singh, Medha Rana and Sonam Bajwa will also be seen in important roles in the film.

Let us tell you that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given Under-A (13+) certificate to Border 2 in theaters without any cuts. This ensures that audiences will see the film exactly as its makers intended, with a runtime of 3 hours 16 minutes.
Border 2 expected to open with a bang
A lot of hype has been created about Border 2, looking at which it seems that this film can make an opening of Rs 30 to 35 crores on the first day of its release in theatres. If it gets positive word of mouth from the audience, then this figure can also cross 40 crores, after which it can beat the opening day of Dhurandhar’s 28 crores and Chhava’s 31 crores. At present the film has crossed the Rs 10 crore mark in advance booking.
