‘Kantara Chapter 1’ Vs ‘Chhaava’

The Bollywood film ‘Sayara’ released this year had made the record of the second highest grossing Indian film in 2025. According to Sacnilc, ‘Sayara’ had done a business of Rs 329.2 crore in 46 days. ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ defeated it in just 8 days.

  • Now the target of the film is this year’s highest grossing film ‘Chaava’ which did a business of Rs 601.54 crore in its lifetime.
  • That means ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ will have to earn around Rs 250 crore more to break the record of Chhawa. Looking at the way the film is earning, it seems that very soon this film may reach close to ‘Chhaava’.

Earnings of ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ are faster than ‘Chhaava’, 2 reasons which can make Rishabh Shetty a king

  • ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is hopeful of becoming number 1 because of the amount of earnings the Kannada film has earned so far. It took 11 days for ‘Chhaava’ to earn that much. ‘Chhaava’ could earn only Rs 344.75 crore in 11 days. Whereas ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has earned much more than this in 9 days.
  • The second reason is that more than 95 percent of the earnings of ‘Chhaava’ came from Hindi only and apart from Hindi, it was released only in Telugu where it did not get much collection. This is not the case with ‘Kantara Chapter 1’. It is earning well in Hindi and also in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil.
