Gujarati cinema is witnessing one of its greatest moments ever, and all credit for it goes to Ankit Sakhiya’s ‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’. This film starring Karan Joshi, Reeva Rach, Shruhad Goswami, Anshu Joshi and Kinnal Nayak has created history. ‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’, which has earned huge sum in 47 days of its release, has also made a new record in its name. The surprising thing is that it is printing notes on the fire of many films including Ajay Devgan’s De De Pyar De 2 and Farhan Akhtar’s 120 Bahadur.
‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’ made this big record
When it comes to regional cinema, usually Telugu or Tamil or Kannada cinema dominates, but this is the first time that a Gujarati film has surprised everyone and caught the attention of the industry. Actually, we are talking about ‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’ which has earned a staggering amount of Rs 76.55 crore in 47 days. With this, it has not only become the highest grossing Gujarati film till date, but has also entered the national charts as the 36th biggest Indian hit of 2025.
The box office journey of ‘Lalo…’ was surprising.
Made on a modest budget of Rs 50 lakh, this film has already made ‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’ an all-time blockbuster. The interesting thing is that in an industry where most of the films reach the top in the first few weeks, the journey of ‘Lalo-Krishna Sada Sahayate’ was the opposite. Actually, the film took a modest start with earnings of Rs 33 lakh in the first week and Rs 27 lakh in the second week. Usually, such figures indicate that a film will be out of theaters, but this is where the film’s fortunes changed. Backed by positive word of mouth and emotional connection with the audience, Lalo showed an impressive growth with earnings of Rs 62 lakh in the third week.
Explosion in the fourth week
Then, like a miracle, the fourth week’s earnings of this film reached Rs 12.08 crore, which is the biggest jump ever for a Gujarati language film. It became a blockbuster after earning a sensational amount of Rs 25.70 crore in the fifth week. After this, it earned Rs 24.40 crore in the sixth week. Which proved that Lalo is running almost entirely on the strength of repeated viewers and tremendous support from the public.
This great run of the film continued in the seventh week also. The film added Rs 9.95 crore in the seventh weekend alone. On Day 46 (Monday), Lalo earned Rs 1.50 crore and a day later, on Day 47, the film collected Rs 1.70 crore, taking its total to Rs 76.55 crore.
Records of these films were broken
With this, Lalo – Krishna Sada Sahayata has overtaken the lifetime collection of Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi’s Bhool Chuk Maaf (Rs 72.3 crore). It has also defeated Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude’s collection of Rs 73.13 crore. It is now the 36th biggest hit of the year across all Indian languages, which is a major achievement for Gujarati cinema. Looking at the trend, the theatrical run of the film is far from over, it is expected that the film will soon cross the Rs 80 crore mark and move towards the Rs 85 crore mark.
