BSNL SUFFERS LOSS of More Than 1.5 Lakh Subscriber, Reliance Jio Added Lakhs of New Mobile Subscribers

The number of subscribers of large private telecom companies increased in April. Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom company, has added about 26.4 lakh mobile subscribers in April. Reliance Jio received 21.7 lakh new subscribers in March. However, the government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has suffered a shock due to the decrease in the number of users in April.

According to the data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), in April, Reliance Jio has acquired about 26.4 lakh new mobile subscribers. The second largest telecom company Bharti Airtel has added 1.71 lakh mobile subscribers last month. Bharti Airtel received about 12.5 lakh new subscribers in March. The challenge for Vodafone Idea, which has been facing financial difficulties for the last few years, has increased. In April, Vodafone Idea has lost about 6.47 lakh mobile subscribers. In March, about 5.4 lakh subscribers of this company were reduced.

In April, BSNL has lost about 1.55 lakh mobile subscribers. However, in March, BSNL received 49,177 new subscribers. This government telecom company is suffering losses due to the scope of 4G network and lack of 5G network. This has also affected the company’s revenue. BSNL’s 4G network can soon be launched across the country. 93,450 towers have been installed for this network. Indigenous technology has been used for the company’s 4G network. This network will be upgraded to 5G.

Recently, Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “We have installed around 93,450 towers. In this, C-DOT is a public sector company, BSNL a government company, Tejas Networks A private sector company and TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES (TCS). Together, the country’s first stack has been prepared in 22 months. ” He had told that India has become the fifth country with indigenous telecom stack for 4G in the world. The list includes China, Finland, South Korea and Sweden. A consortium led by TCS received a contract of about Rs 19,000 crore associated with installing one lakh 4G sites for BSNL.
