Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has brought a good opportunity for the youth looking for government jobs. The process of recruitment for the posts of Work Inspector is going on by the Commission and the last date to apply is now very near. Candidates who have not applied yet do not have much time left. A total of 493 posts will be filled through this recruitment. In such a situation, this recruitment is considered special for those youth who wish to work in the technical field and want to get a government job.
According to the information issued by BTSC, applications for the posts of Work Inspector will be made only through online medium. Candidates have been advised not to wait for the last day, as technical problems may arise on the website at the last moment. The last date to apply has been fixed as 12 January 2026. No application will be accepted after the deadline.
Candidates applying for the post of Work Inspector are required to fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions. It is mandatory for the candidate to have passed class 10th from a recognized board or institute. Along with this, the candidate should have ITI certificate. Talking about age limit, the minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years. The maximum age for general category candidates has been fixed at 37 years. Age relaxation has been given to women candidates and the maximum age for them has been kept at 40 years. Whereas for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category, the maximum age limit has been fixed at 42 years.

To apply in this recruitment process, candidates of all categories will have to deposit the application fee. The application fee has been fixed at Rs 100 by the Commission. Fee payment will also be done through online mode only. Forms submitted without application fee will not be considered valid, hence candidates should take special care of this while applying.
How will the selection be done?
Selection for Work Inspector posts will be done on the basis of written examination. This examination will be computer based and a total of 100 marks questions will be asked. In the exam, questions will come from subjects like Wireman, Electrician, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The candidate will be given 1 mark for each correct answer, while one-fourth mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. This means that negative marking will also be applicable in the examination, hence the candidates will have to answer the questions thoughtfully.
Minimum marks have been fixed for different categories of candidates to be successful in the written examination. General category candidates will have to score at least 40 percent marks. For backward classes this limit has been kept at 36 percent. Extremely backward class candidates will have to obtain at least 34 percent marks and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates will have to obtain at least 32 percent marks. Candidates successful in the written examination will be called for the next stage, in which their documents will be scrutinized.
