Buddha Circuit Budget 2026: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget on Sunday, 1 February 2026. Many sectors have expectations from the budget. Buddhist Circuit Corridor
The government had a special focus on tourism in this year’s budget. During the budget speech in Parliament, Nirmala Sitharaman announced a corridor to promote religious tourism in five northeastern states, which has been named Buddhist Circuit. All these will be built in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Under the plan of this corridor, steps will also be taken for the conservation of temples and monasteries. Through this scheme, work will also be done to strengthen the basic facilities for pilgrims.
While presenting the Budget 2026, the Finance Minister said that – ‘The government will start a scheme for the development of North-Eastern Region Buddhist Circuit, so that temples and monasteries can be conserved. For this, tourist places will also be developed in these North-Eastern states, for which four thousand e-buses will be arranged.
Astrologer Anish Vyas said that, when the government respects religion and faith and makes every possible effort to promote its development, it brings peace, stability and positive energy in the country. The development of Buddhist circuits and preservation of temples and monasteries is also an auspicious sign of this balance. Historic monasteries and other Buddhist sites exist in many states of the North-East.
