After the declaration of the results of UPSC Civil Services Exam, an atmosphere of celebration started in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Shikha Gautam of Bulandshahr had given the UPSC exam after a lot of preparation. Actually, Shikha, who became IAS, was from Haryana.

An atmosphere of celebration was created in the village. Shikha was welcomed with drums. About 1200 people participated in the celebration. Then suddenly, the dream of Shikha Gautam and her family was shattered. It turned out that he had made a mistake in checking the results. In her haste, Shikha Gautam only checked her name but forgot to check the roll number, which was not hers.

When Shikha Gautam was talked about this, she said- ‘I made a mistake’. Talking to news agency ANI, she said, “She is the second Shikha who has been selected. Her name is Shikha and so is mine. I had checked only the name in the result PDF and that is the mistake I made. I should have checked the roll number along with the name.”

Shikha became emotional after seeing the result, mistake of being hasty
At the same time, Shikha’s father Premchand told, “As soon as she saw her name in the list, she told us that she had been selected in IAS. We do not know who is the other Shikha, who was actually selected, not my daughter. We were not even at home at that time. We were getting our wife operated. Shikha became emotional due to happiness, she did not see the complete information and only saw her name. She made a mistake.”
Before this, there was a celebratory atmosphere in the Gautam family. On March 8, Shikha’s brother had informed that his third sister Shikha had secured 113th rank in the second attempt of UPSC. He said that Shikha worked hard at a good level from the beginning. She has been good at studies since the beginning, her dedication was good. Shikha first wanted to become a teacher
