Australia has defeated India by 4 wickets in the second T20 match. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakraborty tried their best to stop Australia, but could not stop Australia from winning by 4 wickets. India had scored only 125 runs while playing first, Kangaroo team won the small target with 40 balls remaining.
Australia had a small target of 126 runs. The opening pair of Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh together took Australia’s score beyond 50 in just 4 overs. Head was out after scoring 28 runs in 15 balls, on the other hand, captain Mitchell Marsh played a brilliant inning of 46 runs in 26 balls. During this, Marsh hit 2 fours and four skyscraper sixes.
Bumrah-Chakraborty’s efforts failed
Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakraborty tried their best to restrict Australia to a small score. Bumrah took 2 wickets giving only 26 runs in 4 overs, at the other end Chakraborty gave only 23 runs in 4 overs and took two wickets. Other bowlers could not leave much impact. Kuldeep Yadav did take 2 wickets, but proved to be very expensive.
When the Indian team came to bat first, only Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana were able to score big. Abhishek played an inning of 68 runs in a stormy manner, on the other hand, Harshit Rana, batting at seventh position, played an inning of 35 runs, but he was very expensive in bowling. Harshit had given away 27 runs in just 2 overs.
Australia won after four years
This has happened after five years when Australia has defeated the Indian team in a T20 match on its home ground. Australia last defeated India on its home ground in Sydney in December 2020. This is Australia’s 12th overall win against Team India in T20 International.
